George Donald Broyles, lovingly known as Don and affectionately called "Honey Don," passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by the love of his family. Don lived a full life anchored in faith, overflowing with laughter, and rich in love. A devoted follower of Christ, Don boldly shared the hope of the gospel with anyone willing to listen. He lived out his faith with quiet humility, always ready to offer a helping hand, a word of encouragement, or a heartfelt prayer. His life was a reflection of the love of Jesus, and his presence brought comfort and strength to all who knew him. Don was known not only for his faith but also for his humor. Often called the king of comedy, he had an unmatched ability to turn everyday moments into stories worth retelling. His quick wit, perfectly timed jokes, and signature grin could lift any spirit. Don believed that laughter was a gift from God, and he gave it freely. His faith made him steady, and his humor made him shine-two legacies that endure in the lives he touched. Don proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. While stationed in Southeast Asia, he was exposed to Agent Orange and later faced health challenges related to his service. Through it all, he remained strong, resilient, and deeply devoted to his fellow soldiers. His sacrifice and loyalty are honored with deep gratitude. Although only in Vernal, Utah since July of 2024, Don quickly built a community of friends who embraced him and supported him through his final days. Their kindness and care brought comfort and peace not only to Don, but to his family as well. Above all else, Don treasured his roles as Husband, Dad, and Papa. He was also a loyal and trusted friend to many-someone who showed up with kindness, consistency, and often a good story to tell. His friendships were deep and lasting, a true testimony to his character. Don is survived by the love of his life, his children and grandchildren who adored him, and a host of extended family and friends who were blessed to know him.
