George Sloan
August 6, 1934 — November 30, 2014
George W. Sloan passed away at the age of 80 at the Uintah Basin Medical Center on November 30, 2014. George was born on August 6, 1934 to Essie Buckner and Grover William Sloan in Shamrock, Texas.
George served in the United States Army as a Paratrooper. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding horses. George had a love for animals. One of his greatest joys was helping Gary gather wild horses.
George is preceded in death by his son Jerry Sloan; parents Grover and Essie Sloan; and brother Barney Sloan.
George is survived by his four children: Bonnie, Wayne, Brenda and Burnie; siblings: Laverta (Glade) Cook, Jim Sloan and Harold (Leann) Sloan.
A visitation was held on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 6~8PM at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home (410 North 800 West).
