It is with heavy hearts and deep appreciation for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Glen Lyn Kurtz on August 4, 2026, at the age of 95. Born on October 13, 1930, in Vernal, Utah, Glen was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.


Glen was the beloved son of the late Henry Martin Kurtz and Ruby Sarah Boan. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother and sister, and a brother who died at birth. He is survived by his devoted wife, Genevieve Rios-Kurtz, with whom he shared 31 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a loving family, raising children Wayne, Bill, Glenna, Pam Argyle, Teri Cutler, Tammy Magby, Gaylyn Gardener, along with Genevieve's children: Pete, Cindi, Jesse, Richard and Victoria, as well as stepchildren Lisa Dixon and Carolyn Ibarra. Glen's family became his greatest pride and joy, and he was blessed with 31 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom he adored.


Glen was a man of service, serving his country honorably in the U.S. Army. After his military service, he built a successful career as a welder, dedicating 35 years to his craft. His strong work ethic and dedication were admired by all who knew him.


A man of many talents and interests, Glen was a skilled farmer, a passionate hunter and fisherman, and a talented machinist. He was known throughout his community for his generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand. His quick wit and warm, inviting smile left a lasting impression on everyone he met.


Glen's educational journey began with his graduation from high school, followed by his attendance at college, where he broadened his knowledge and skills. His life was a testament to the values of hard work, dedication, and kindness.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home for their kindness, patience, and exceptional care for Glen during this time. Your support and compassion have been invaluable.

Glen Lyn Kurtz will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace, knowing that his life made a difference in the lives of many.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 11:00AM at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be held Monday evening from 6-8PM and Tuesday 9:45-10:45AM all at the Mortuary. Interment will be in the Dry Fork Cemetery with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 11 and the Utah Patriot Guard Riders.
