Gloria Avalon Monson Neff, our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and friend, slipped peacefully through Heaven's door Tues. morning, July 15, 2014, into the arms of her dear sweetheart.
She was born Oct. 2, 1926 in Provo, Utah to Albert Lawrence Monson and Bessie Olea Sims. She grew up in Provo Utah and later moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Albert Hughes Neff for time and all eternity on Aug. 17, 1948 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They spent almost 61 years together in Manila where they raised their family. Her greatest service was to her family as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an excellent cook; one of her greatest hobbies was collecting recipes. She loved to try new things and would mold them into something of her own.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings. She loved working in the temple where she and Albert served for many years.
She is survived by one sister, Beverly Monson Blake of Salem Oregon. Her children: Robert (Eileen) Neff of Herriman Utah, Jane (Ken) Hullinger of Vernal Utah, Steve (Jill) Neff of Sandy Utah, Margery (Gene) Hullinger, and Louise (Greg) Gosar all of Manila Utah. She had 27 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving and dear husband Albert, baby son David, brother Danny Rice, and sisters, LaWana Rice Backman and Mary Monson Sawaya.
It was a very choice blessing to care for our dear Mother and we will have many, many memories of those last days that we will never forget. Love Love till we meet again Mom.
Funeral was conducted on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Manila LDS Ward Chapel at 12Noon. Burial was in the Daggett County Cemetery in Manila, Utah. Services were under the Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
