Gordon Douglas Womack

Doug passed away February 16, 2024 peacefully in his home after he courageously battled with a two-year diagnosis with cancer. Doug was born February 8, 1950 to Gordon Warren & Gloria Ellen (Pace) who raised him in Roosevelt, Utah. He was the oldest of three children. Janet (Paul) Roberts and Jeff (Tracy) Womack. Doug spent as much times as he could down at his Grandpas and Grandmas homestead. He graduated from Union High School. While school wasn't his favorite thing it gave him the opportunity to play football. That he loved and passed his love of the game onto all his children. Doug married and had four children and later divorced. In 1986 he met Joy and her four children. Joann (Chad) Rogers, Jennifer (Sean) Ashcraft, Geoffery (Lynn) Allen, and Jerrett Spencer. They ran off and got married July 19, 1988 not knowing it at the time they would go on to raise many children having two more together. Ike Womack and Linize (Bradley) Berg. With two of his children Burt (Lizebeth) Womack and Jamie (Bobby) Parker spending time with them. Making what some would call a full house, but not for them. They also took in their grandkids raising them as their own Zac Floyd and Brady Spencer. Their home was always full of the grandkids and their friends. They were happiest when they had a house full of kids. Also, there are 38 grandkids and great grandkids. Doug was very lucky and got to work as a Diesel Mechanic. And he was very good at it, because it was in his blood and he loved it. Doug is proceeded in death by his parents Gordon & Gloria Womack, Joy's parents Marjorie Warenski Shepard & Gene Shepard, and grandkid Stevee Spencer. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 3:00PM at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. A viewing will be held Tuesday from 2:00-3:00PM at the mortuary.
