H. Glenn Mckee

March 27, 1945 — April 30, 2024

Vernal

Harold Glen McKee (79), of Vernal, Utah, suffered heart related complications and passed away on April 30, 2024, surrounded by family. Glen was born to Reed and Thelma McKee, on March 27, 1945, in Roosevelt, Utah and was one 15 children raised on a dairy farm in Tridell, Utah. Glen attended Union High school where he was a talented athlete who enjoyed wrestling and playing football. He also spent many years in motorcross, only to quit after he broke a leg. Soon after graduating, he married, Loa Marlene Hoopes. They were married for 43 years and had seven children. Glen started a career in the oil field and worked in many aspects therein for many years. He served as a Uintah County Commissioner for eight years. He then taught himself how to sew on an old industrial sewing machine and opened his own business, Glen's Outdoor Supply in Maeser. After Marlene passed away in 2007, Glen married Donna Maestes. They have enjoyed 16 years together. Aside from being with family, his second favorite place to be was spending time fishing, hunting, hiking, sight-seeing, petroglyphs, gardening, and arrowhead hunting. He loved church history and always expressed how proud he was of his ancestral heritage. Glen was passionate about giving and sharing. He was always sharing his garden goodies to his friends and neighbors, setting up his homemade tents for group campouts, and sharing his passion of life and interests with others. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints where he had a strong testimony and love of church history and served in various capacities. Glen was preceded in death by his wife, Loa Marlene McKee, his grandson, Kel Bigelow, his parents, and three brothers, David, Arthur, and Larry Dean. Glen was survived by his wife, Donna, seven children, Linda (Doug) Bowen, Glenda McKee, Arliss (Martin) Indreboe, Marlo Newberry, Marie Brown, LeAnn (Larry) Dick, and Dallen (Mandi) McKee; two step- children, Sarah (Ken) Sonntag & son Miles, Jessica Maestas; sixteen Grandchildren, Burke, Shad, Kelsi, Kayli, Cassie, Morgan, Moriah, Abby, Wayne, Tanner, Tace, Kaisha, Laney, Dillon, Leila; and 14 Great Grandchildren, Katelyn, Stetson, Brooks, Shelly, Pierce, Luke, Jarrod, Owen, Turner, Jackson, Sully, Hattie, Jayli, and Charlie. Glen never retired, and even at the age of 79, he worked every day in his store to provide for himself and his family. Our Dad and Grandpa was the, sweetest, kindest, gentlest man we have ever known. Dad, we will forever miss your multiple kisses, hugs, passion, stories, harmonica, whiskers rubs, quirks, potatoes, turnips, fork ear wax, teasing, wisdom, strength, grunts, whistling, bald head, lumpy legs, drink cups, onions, grazing in the kitchen, talents, perfection, and heart. Funeral services for Glenn will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 11:00am at the Maeser 4th Ward LDS Chapel (2575 North 1500 West). Visitation for family and friends will be Friday May 3rd from 6:00pm ~ 8:00pm at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home, and Saturday from 9:45am ~ 10:45am at the church.
