Helen Marie Burgess

Helen Burgess, age 82, passed away on January 20, 2019 in Murray, Utah. Helen was born in Montrose, Colorado to John Schleich and Elizabeth Schaaf on May 26, 1936. Helen married David Hollis Burgess on June 28, 1963 in Montrose, Colorado. Helen enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, spending time with family and friends and road trips with family. She loved being outdoors fishing and hunting. You could always catch her humming a tune. She loved to teach others and was the kindest soul to everyone. Helen is survived by her son John Burgess, daughter Mary Burgess, sister Ruth Heath, brother Larry Schleich, grandchildren: Jesse Toftum, James Toftum, Jaydan Toftum, DeLynn Aguilar, Zack Barnes, Nyshia Hacking; great grandchildren Kira Barnes, Emmett Barnes, LynnDe Aguilar and Rylynn Hacking. She was preceded in death by by her parents John Scheich and Elizabeth Schaaf Scheich, husband David Hollis Burgess, son Scott David Burgess, daughter Dora Dee Burgess Barnes. Funeral services will be held Saturday January 26, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home (410 North 800 West). Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 P.M. and Saturday 9:45-10:45 A.M. at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
