Henry Albert Vigil

Henry A. Vigil passed away on July 16, 2021 at the age of 81. Henry was born on September 12, 1939 to Maria E. Ortega and Francisco Vigil in Hotchkiss, Colorado. Henry married Maria Pena in Vernal. Henry enjoyed spending time with his family, especially grandkids. He was always up for a game of pool, he was known as "Hawkeye" by his friends. Henry served in the US Army. He was a devoted Catholic and served with The Knights of Columbus. Henry worked for American Gilsonite for 30 plus years. Henry is survived by his nine children: Renee (Chad) Durrant, Joe (Karen) Vigil, Tammy (Derek) Powell, Randy (Carrie) Griffis, Donna (Bryan) Christiansen, Sherry (Larry) Whitney, Terry (Royce) Hunt, Brenda (Gus) Richardson, Cody (Amber) Vigil; 34 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Maria Vigil, seven siblings, a son-in-law, two grandchildren and a great granddaughter. Henry loved his family unconditionally and made sure they were always taken care of. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 11:00a.m. at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home (410 N 800 West). A Rosary will take place Tuesday evening from 6:00-7:00p.m. at the St. James Catholic Church (138 North 100 West).
