Jackson Fredrick Wright passed away in a tragic auto accident on Friday, August 28, 2026, along with his mother and father.
Jackson was born on April 2, 2008, to Rick Wright and Heather Hadlock Wright.
Jackson loved being in the water, whether in a swimming pool, a lake, or the ocean. He was a talented martial artist who earned his second-degree black belt in Taekwondo. His family will always remember his impressive karate moves and takedowns, as well as the gentleness and tenderness that accompanied his strength.
Jackson graduated from Ashley Valley Education Center in 2025 at the age of 17. He had enrolled at Utah State University Uintah Basin and planned to begin classes this fall. He was setting goals for his education, health, and future, and was working hard to achieve them.
Jackson enjoyed playing video games, particularly with his cousin and best friend, Miles. The two spent countless hours together over the years playing games and talking about their dreams and plans for the future. Jackson also enjoyed chess and had a natural mind for strategy, much like his father.
An avid reader, Jackson built a large collection that included the Harry Potter series, graphic novels, manga, and classic literature. He possessed a rich inner life and experienced the world with unusual thoughtfulness and depth, much like his mother.
Jackson loved his family deeply and they loved him. He was a cherished brother to Ryan, Anya, and Stephanie, and a proud uncle to Olivia and Marie. His family will remember his tender heart, the warmth of his hugs, his observant eyes, the way his face lit up when he smiled, and the unforgettable sound of his laugh.
Jackson carried gentleness and strength together. His goodness, kindness, and quiet courage were an example to his family and to all who knew him.
He is survived by:
Grandparents: Lewis & Lynne Wright, Van & Wendy Hadlock, and Shanna & Adam Angel.
Siblings: Ryan Ricks; Anya Wright and her daughter, Marie; and Stephanie Wright Brown and her daughter, Olivia.
He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly.
Jackson's passing leaves a hole in our hearts and in our family. May we honor our gentle warrior by finding enjoyment in life and following his example of kindness, goodness, courage, and strength.
