Jacqueline "Jacqui" Marshall King, beloved wife, mother, sister, teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully after a courageous seven-year battle with breast cancer. Throughout her journey, she faced every challenge with remarkable strength, grace, and determination, surrounded by the love of family and friends.
Jacqui was born on December 3, 1957, in Vernal, Utah, to Nelson and Eleanor Marshall. Raised in Vernal, she developed a lifelong love of music that became one of her greatest gifts to others. She attended Utah State University and Mesa State College, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance. An accomplished pianist, she gave many memorable solo performances throughout her career, including the honor of performing with the Utah Symphony. As a nationally certified piano teacher, Jacqui shared her love of music with hundreds of students through her private studio. She also served as an instructor for Utah State University and Central Wyoming College.
Jacqui embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. She loved golfing, boating with family and friends, and creating cherished memories with those she loved most. She had a special affection for her beloved dogs, who brought her great happiness throughout the years. Above all, she treasured her family and friendships, finding her greatest joy in the people she loved.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Kirby King; her daughters, Sammi (Tyler) and Kassi (Justin); her sister, Patricia Marshall Szugye (Jesse); her brother, Hal Marshall (Teri); her mother-in-law, Joye King; her brother-in-law, Jeff King; and many nieces, nephews, former students, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Eleanor Marshall, and her father-in-law, Lynne King.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the many caregivers who supported Jacqui throughout her cancer journey. Special thanks to her oncologists, Dr. Esplin and Dr. Pratt, and their teams at Revere Health; Canyon Hospice; the compassionate staff at the Vernal Beehive Home; and the many nurses and therapists who provided exceptional care, comfort, and kindness over the past seven years. Jacqui deeply appreciated every person who cared for her and treasured the friendships and support they provided along the way.
Although her passing leaves an immeasurable void, Jacqui's legacy lives on through the music she shared, the students she inspired, and the family and friends blessed to know her. Her kindness, strength, generosity, and love will never be forgotten.
