James Bernard Leonard

James Leonard passed away unexpectedly on May 14, 2020 at the University of Utah Hospital. He was born June 26, 1974 in Alamosa, Colorado. His parents were James C. (Jim) Leonard, his father, and Janelle (Jan) Leonard Reyes, his mother, and Jose Reyes, his step-father. James lived most of his in Vernal, Utah.James worked at various jobs including painting, plumbing, and in the oilfield. James was a hard worker, loving son, brother and father. He was a loyal friend to so many. His friends and family remember him as having a heart of GOLD always willing to help anyone who needed it. "He had the biggest heart of anyone I know," "A REAL and TRUE friend." James loved his son, Kaiden, more than anything. It's with great sadness that we let him go. We know that he is in the arms of God. We know we will see him again someday. We are rejoice now that he is NO LONGER IN PAIN.He is survived by his father, Jim Leonard, his mother Jan Reyes, his step-father, Jose Reyes, his sister, Holly Wells, and his brother Jon Leonard. He is also survived by his nieces, Morgan (Daisy) Daliessio, Amy Harris, his nephew, Cash Wells, and his son, Kaiden Leonard. He is also survived by many friends in Vernal, UT and beyond.His happy place was being at church at POWERHOUSE MINISTRIES in Vernal, UT on Sundays.He was preceded in death by Happy and Lela Leonard (paternal grandparents), George and Gladys Wick (maternal grandparents).A memorial service will be held Monday, August 3, 2020 at 6:00p.m. at the Power House Ministries (435 North Vernal Avenue, Vernal, Utah). Interment will take place on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 in the Del Norte Cemetery at 6:00 p.m. in Del Norte, Colorado.Interment Wed, Aug 5, 2020 at 6:00 pmVernal Memorial Park
