Jay Hardinger

Jay Hardinger age 70 passed away peacefully on June 15th, 2020 in his home in Vernal, Utah surrounded by family. Jay was born in Roosevelt, Utah to Albert and Mabel Hardinger on October 6th, 1949. He married Patty Abplanalp on June 8th, 1973 in Vernal, Utah and later they were Sealed together for all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on February 26th, 1977. He worked as a mechanic, driver and oilfield worker for several companies throughout the Uintah Basin. He enjoyed serving in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, especially in the scouting program. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and a crack shot with a gun. Jay loved spending time in the great outdoors with his family. Jay is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Mabel; his siblings Pat, Frank “Butch” and Elroy; along with cherished grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins that he loved dearly. Jay is survived by his wife Patty and their children; Janson [Jill], Heather, Monte [Sandy]; and grandchildren; Chancey, Whitney, William, Jana, Abbie and Elizabeth; along with his brother Richard Hardinger and many nephews, nieces and cousins. A viewing will be held Thursday June 18th at Ashley Valley Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. On Friday June 19th Funeral services will be at the Vernal Stake Center next to the Uintah Middle School. Viewing will be held at 9:45 a.m. prior to services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Maeser Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
