Jean Evans

Bonnie Jean Howard Evans returned home to her Heavenly Father surrounded by her loving family on June 11, 2012 after a short and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Vernal, Utah on February 10, 1952 to Paul Truett and Bonnie Elrae Belcher Howard. She married the love of her life, James Martin Evans on August 1, 1975. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Jean's husband, children and grandchildren were the highlight of her life. She was so excited anytime she was with her family. She devoted her entire life to those she loved. She loved to laugh and her smile was contagious. She was truly an angel to so many people. Jean was a peacemaker who spent her entire life in the service of others. She was an excellent cook and made sure anyone who was sick or in need had a home cooked meal from her. She always had a listening ear and a kind heart for everyone. She was a beautician at Janet's and Joyces House of Beauty. She then went to work for the Uintah School District as a school lunch cook where she retired.

She is survived by her loving husband and her children: Lydia and Matt James of Spanish Fork, Utah; Paul and Tamara Evans of West Jordan, Utah; Hayley and Raoul Lubain of Springville, Utah and Erin and Roosevelt Richard of Vernal, Utah. She is also survived by her step sons, her grandchildren, her sisters and brother and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Bonnie Howard.

A viewing was held Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home at 410 North 800 West in Vernal, Utah. Funeral services were held on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Davis 1st Ward Chapel located at 3990 South 1500 East, Vernal, Utah. There was a viewing at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment was held in the Vernal Memorial Park.
