It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jody Mason Sharp on August 26, 2025. Jody was born on January 26, 1996, a beacon of joy and kindness from the very beginning. His legacy is one filled with love and selflessness, an example he set for everyone around him.
Jody is survived by his loving parents, Lester and Cloudy Mason Sharp. His siblings, Selaina, Donovan, and Caitlyn Sharp, will remember him as a caring and supportive brother. His grandparents, Mavis, Bruce, and JoLene Sharp, Grandmothers Nancy McGaughey and Jonni Mason, mourn the loss of a cherished grandson. Jody's children, Mikale and Alex Sharp, Jaeln and Donivan Bishop, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, are left to treasure his memory.
He is preceded in death by his Uncle; Joseph Sharp, Cousin; Mike Cooper, Grandfather; Fred Mason, Great Grandfathers; Heman Sharp, Henry Minchey, Lester Minchey, Great Grandmothers; Shawna Minchey, Lynetta Minchey, Great great grandmother; Elva Wayne, many other family members that he never met in this lifetime.
Jody Sharp graduated from Southwest Education Academy in Cedar City, UT, in May of 2014. His interests were diverse and fulfilling, ranging from a love for meat and potatoes and a soft spot for Mountain Dew, to his favorite song, 'Somebody save me.' He was fond of television shows 'Caught at border' and 'Jail' 'Oak island'. Jody felt 'Jelly Roll's songs described his life and feelings. When he was in elementary school, he played soccer and t-ball.
His recreational pursuits were equally varied, with a passion for rock hounding and looking for old coins. He wanted to go gold hunting with his grandfather Fred Mason and visit the redwoods. His favorite color, black, was a reflection of the simple and grounded person that Jody was.
Described as someone who would give anything to anyone and cared about everyone, Jody's innate kindness was his most defining characteristic. His greatest accomplishment and source of pride is his children. His legacy will be one of kindness and love for others, a lasting tribute to his generous spirit.
A celebration of Jody's life will be held on November 25, 2025, at 1pm at the Town Homes Clubhouse in Washington, Utah. His cremated remains will be spread at the Washington Cemetery, Washington, Utah.
