JoeAnn Troendle

JoeAnn (Garcia) Troendle a mom, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away Friday, August 8, 2025 in Vernal, Utah at the age of 67.

JoeAnn was born to Juanita (Jennie Garcia) and Reynaldo Garcia on March 30, 1958 in Vernal, Utah. JoeAnn's early childhood was spent In Bonanza, Utah, where her dad was a Gilsonite miner. JoeAnn could out run, out ride, out throw any boy or girl in Bonanza, all the while never wearing shoes.

Riding a bike that was way to big for her, breaking her leg, slowed her down a bit but not for long. She was quite the Tomboy, and had very fond memories of growing up in Bonanza. At a very young age JoeAnn started working in The Sage restaurant. There was nothing she could not cook or bake that was not delicious. Her specialty was cinnamon rolls. Two of her sisters were known to go to her house after she cooked a good meal, sneak over with zip lock baggies to steal leftovers. 

Later in life Joann became a caregiver for many families, they loved and appreciated the care and compassion she showed towards their loved ones. JoeAnn was a great friend to many, her final days were spent with her friends coming and going from her bedside. 

JoeAnn is preceded in death by her parents, Jennie and Reynoldo Garcia, her husband William Thomas Troendal, and brother Charlie Gracia.

Memorial service for JoeAnn will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 11am at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
