John LeRoy "Pop" Price, 90, passed through the veil September 7, 2024, at his home in Vernal, Utah. John was born October 26, 1933, to Joseph and Della Price. Being the youngest child, John was adored by his five older sisters and one older brother. Life was good growing up on the family farm in the Glines area. John graduated from Uintah High School where he had many close friends, some of whom he still enjoyed in his final years. On June 12, 1953, he married his sweetheart, the adorable cheerleader from Altamont High School, Frances Faye Wall. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. John and Frances were the parents of five children: Johnny, Danny, Derk, Cathy, and Bart. Throughout his life, John worked hard and had a variety of jobs in farming, dairy, mining, and the oil industry, along with being a Highland Dairy delivery man. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with his all-time favorite calling being the Glines Ward Deacon's Quorum adviser. He served in the Vernal Temple and in his younger days loved to sing in the choir. John was an avid golfer and had an amazing five holes in one over his lifetime. He loved to read and always had an enormous garden, which he loved to share the produce with his family, neighbors, and friends. After his beloved Frances passed away in 2016, he found the joy of cooking. As time flew into his 80s, Pop became his best self in a beautiful way. He deeply treasured his relationships with family, friends, and neighbors and loved visiting on the phone and in person. He loved his amazing ministers and members from the Vernal 7 th Ward and appreciated their service. For the past three years, Pop enjoyed large birthday parties where all those who loved him would yell in unison, "POP ROCKS!" Those enthusiastic words will live on in our hearts forever. John is survived by his children Danny, Derk (Jacqui), and Cathy, with 12 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Della, his sisters, Margaret, Eva, Alice, Mary, Donna, Ruth, and his brother Bud.
