John Leonard Taylor

John Leonard Taylor passed away on February 14, 2016 in Vernal, Utah. He was born on April 27, 1939 to Jennie and Leonard Guy Taylor in Myton, Utah. John is preceeded in death by his wife Nancy E. Taylor; his parents; children: Kathy LaRae Taylor and Larry Jay Taylor. He is survived by three of his children: Rick "Scully" (Dawn) Taylor, Ruby (Steve) Hancock, Nancy (John Paul) Leiser; grandchildren and great grandchildren. John was the first son of three boys and a twin in a family of eleven children: Owena, Lillie Mae, LaDonna, Joe, Ann, GuyLa, John, LaRene (his twin), Ken, Ed, Barbra and Glenda. John married Nancy Helen Ellis in Dillion S.C. on April 27, 1960. They married and sealed their children to them in the Provo Temple June of 1976. He served in the US Army from 1958~1961. He worked various jobs throughout his life: dairy, crop cutting mechanic, drilling and blasting, construction and oilfield. Some of the companies he worked were Stauffer Chemical, Showalter Ford, Flint Engineering, J-West and TIC. He retired in 2002. He was a home mechanic and do it yourself carpenter. We all learned a lot from him and he will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home (410 North 800 West). A viewing will be held Saturday from 9:45~10:45 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Vernal Memorial Park with Military honors by the American Legion Post 11 and the Utah National Guard.
