Joseph Wright

Joseph 'Joe' Oliver Wright, age 39 of Vernal, husband of Christina Wood Wright, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. He was born on June 2, 1986 to Kathy Wilhelmsen Wright and Gary Wright in Ogden, Utah. Joe married Christina Wood on June 4, 2010 in Vernal, Utah.

Joe lived a life full of love for his family, and he always had a thirst for knowledge. His love for learning led him to become a small business owner, to get his CDL, to learn to weld and then repair welders, as well as finishing his bachelors degree in education. His degree helped him to grow a love for literature, and the nuances of storytelling. Joe was able to combine his love of being a father along with his love of sharing knowledge in recent years by homeschooling his children, Fawx and Ginny. Joe also loved building and gaming using computers, and was able to share that hobby with his children.

He is survived by his wife; Christina, children; Fawx and Ginny, parents; Gary and Kathy, siblings; Aaron (Katherina), Sam (Amanda), Brian (Jessie), David, Annie, and Katie (Brock), His Uncle Lynn, and 18 nieces and nephews.

He is preceded by his brother Adam, his Grandma Patty, Grandma Virginia, and Uncle Oliver.

Funeral services for Joe will be held Monday, July 14, 2025 at 12:00pm at the Uintah Conference Center (313 East 200 South). Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday from 6:00pm ~ 8:00pm at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home and Monday from 10:45am ~ 11:45am at the Uintah Conference Center. Interment in Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
