Our beloved Son, Brother, Nephew, Grandson, and Friend, Justin Aiono Mamea, age 18, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 28th, 2024, at Primary Children's Hospital surrounded by all his loved ones after courageously battling cancer the last 2 years.
Justin was born on April 1st, 2005, in Salt Lake City, Utah and was the 2nd of 5 children. He was the son of Equator and Misiona Mamea. He was survived by his two loving parents, 3 brothers; Jordan, Jonah, and Julian and 1 sister Jade who will miss him so much. He was also survived by countless Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his Grandfather, Kelly Mamea Sr., Grandmother, Aliitasi Aiono, and his beloved dog, Nipsey.
In 2012, Justin and his family moved to Vernal, where they made it their forever home and developed a deep connection within the community. The Mamea Family takes pride in being part of this wonderful community.
Justin graduated from Uintah High school in 2023. He was a class clown and could always be found joking around, he brought a smile to everyone's face. Justin was a 6'4" gentle giant who was respectful to all, and a friend to everyone he crossed paths with, and if you knew him, you would know that his laughter is contagious. He loved playing the ukulele, watching anime, playing video games, his Mom's cooking, hanging out with his family and his closest friends, and reggae music.
Funeral services for Justin will held Thursday February 8, 2024 at 11:00am at the Uintah Conference Center (313 East 200 South). Visitation for family and friends will be held that morning from 9:00am ~ 10:45am at the Conference Center. Interment in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
