Kaleb James Spaulding

Kaleb James Spaulding passed away on May 8th, 2026, at the age of 46. Kaleb was born on 12/10/1979 to Christine Oaks Spaulding and Steven James Spaulding in Roosevelt, UT.

Kaleb married Tammy "Midge" Batty on 9/2/2005 in the Vernal Utah Temple. Kaleb was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings and capacities throughout his life.

He loved his family, his kids, finding and sharing funny videos, hunting, fishing, target shooting, hiking, driving anywhere, Mustangs, and learning anything and everything about guns and old vehicles. He graduated from Uintah High School in 1999 and soon after started his career in the oilfield, where he met many beloved, lifelong friends and co-workers.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy, and 4 children: Jesse James, Sterling, Zachary, and Zina; his mother, Christine; and brother, Troy Spaulding (Brandi). He is also survived by his Batty siblings: Jennie (Carl), Jessie (Clint), Steven (Ashley), Luke, and his mom-in-law, Tammy.

He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews: Ashley (Mike) Waters, Jacob Spaulding, Kelton (Cortney) Spaulding, Kagan Spaulding, and Adalyn Spaulding; and his Batty nieces and nephews: Abigale Morton, Alexis Morton, Brooklyn Morton, Madison Morton, Stockton Morton, Veronica Morton, Miles Batty, Cooper Morton, Baylee Morton, Jack Batty, Stevie Batty, McLane Batty, and Nila Batty.

He is preceded in death by his father, Steve; brother, Ryan; sister, Juleena; Grandparents Oaks; Grandparents Spaulding; and Father-in-law, Gale.

Thank you to Ashley 3rd Ward for the compassionate service. And a special thanks to everyone who helped him in the field and administered life saving service to our beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. We are so grateful to you and the EMT's, Dr's, and nurses at Ashley Valley Medical Center. We also want to thank DHI and all of Kaleb's friends and coworkers along with all of our family, friends, and neighbors who have given us support in multiple ways.

Funeral services for Kaleb James Spaulding, age 46, of Vernal, husband of Tamara Batty Spaulding will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 12:00PM at the Ashley 3rd Ward LDS Chapel (235 East 600 South). A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday evening from 6-8PM at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home and Saturday 10:30-11:45AM at the Church. Interment will be in the Rockpoint Cemetery.
