It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of Kenneth D. Carpenter of Ogden, Utah formerly of Vernal. He passed unexpectedly on April 13th, 2026, just one week after celebrating his 74th birthday from a cardiac episode. This untimely loss came as a shock to all who loved him. He will truly be remembered for his playful personality and zest for life.

Ken was born in Delta, Utah on April 5, 1952, to Donald and Julia (Keller) Carpenter. He graduated from Delta high school in 1971. In November of 1971 he married Diane Martell, though they later divorced, they were still best friends and had a special bond through their kids and grandkids.

He worked many years in the oil field and fondly shared the stories of his time with Dowell to anyone who would listen. He later drove truck, and for the last 36 years has been enjoying the backroads of the country. It was through truck driving that he found a love of travel and looked forward to retirement and having the time to finally explore all the places he had seen.

Ken was a proud grandpa, he loved spending time with his grandchildren, whether it was at Disney World, Lagoon, on the lake, or just giving them a hard time, they were always his best moments. He went skydiving at the age of 70, rode every roller coaster to the very end, the wilder the better, he really was a big kid. There were no strangers to Ken, he made friends everywhere he went and left a wake of fond memories for everyone who knew him.

Ken is survived by his children, Shawna Carpenter, Lori Carpenter Huber, Jason (Amber) Carpenter. Grandchildren, Brady (Shaun) Carpenter, Kylie Huber, Kenzie Huber, Kaden Huber, Jada Carpenter and Amery Carpenter. Siblings, Verleen Williams, Kathy Elston, Brent Carpenter, D’Ann Morrill and many nieces and nephews. Lastly his best friend and trucking partner for the last 15 years, his fur baby Harley. Ken is proceeded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Ken’s wish was to donate his body to science; no service will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Rest in peace, we love and miss you so much already.
