Kenneth Richardson

November 20, 1928 — December 17, 2012

Kenneth Lynn Richardson, age 84, was born on Nov. 20, 1928 to Kenneth Lafe and Reva York Richardson in Vernal. He died on Dec. 17, 2012 at the Uintah Care Center after a yearlong battle with Alzheimer's.

Lynn lived in the beautiful little town of Vernal his whole life except for a short time chasing oil rigs in Wyoming. Aug. 21 of 1947 Lynn married his high school sweetheart Opal Joye McKeachnie in Vernal, they were later blessed with a daughter and two sons.

Lynn owned and operated Lynn's Texaco Full Service Station for over 50 years. He will be remembered for his honest, fair dealing and unselfish service to the elderly and widows that trusted him for years with their car repairs. Lynn will also be remembered for his immaculate yard and garden. He was so blessed to have a green thumb. One of his best kept secrets was what he called his "tomato tea" to be poured on at just the right time and volume. He had a great love for the outdoors, hunting, fishing and rock hunting.

Lynn is survived by his wife Joye, his sons Craig (Karen) Richardson and John (Kathy) Richardson; grandchildren Amy (David) Stratz, Lacy (Derick) Lange, Lynn (Wendy) Huber, Bart Huber, Mattie Richardson; brother Gary Richardson of Price, Utah; 7 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and one on the way.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Lynda and brother Ralph Richardson.

Grandpa Lynn will always be remembered for his love and care for others and that little wink we all knew and loved so well. We will all miss this humble, hardworking, kind, caring considerate good man in our lives.

Lynn's family would like to thank all of the staff at the Uintah Care Center for their care and compassion for Lynn this past year. We would also like to thank all of the many kind prayers, calls, cards, visits and acts of service that has been rendered from all.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 11 AM at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home. A viewing was held Friday evening 6~8pm and one hour prior to services at the Mortuary. Interment was in the Vernal Memorial Park.
