Listen to Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lael "Cork" Greenhow, 66, who died peacefully at his home in Vernal, Utah, on March 18, 2026.

Cork was born on March 16, 1960, in Ogden, Utah, to Claud Richard and Sharon Swain Greenhow. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, anything country or American. He enjoyed collecting guns, pens, baseball caps, pins and patches. He treasured phone calls and visits with loved ones and especially enjoyed watching BYU and 49er games with his son.

In recent years, Cork lived in Vernal after spending many in Layton and Clinton, Utah. He had a big heart and made friends wherever life took him.

Cork is survived by his children, Emily Selena Garcia (daughter) and Weston Lael Greenhow (son). Siblings include: Richard (Rick) Kirk Greenhow (brother), Valorie Lynn Greenhow, Wendy Gail Greenhow and Tammy Lawrence (sisters); as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claud Richard and Sharon Swain Greenhow and his daughter Mindy Ann Greenhow.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Tanya Jackson and Courtney Trinnaman, as well as to all of Cork's caregivers, for the compassion and respect they showed in caring for him. Your kindness, companionship, and dedication not only supported him, but also brought comfort and peace to our entire family. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date
