Larry Curtis

Larry D. Curtis, 45, passed away on July 11, 2012 in Roosevelt, Utah, surrounded by loving family members.

Larry was born on June 12, 1967 to proud parents Kent O. and Gloria Davis Curtis in Salt Lake City, Utah. At the age of seven he moved with his family to the Uintah Basin and spent the remainder of his life there, an area he loved very much. He attended schools in Vernal and graduated from Uintah High School in 1984. He married Tonja Morrell on June 27, 1986, later divorced. From that union he was blessed with 3 children, Josh (Gabbi) Curtis, Janessa (Clayton) Cuch, and Jerica Curtis. They meant the world to him and he loved being a part of their lives. He was especially proud when he became Grandpa to Braeya, Daicyn, and Acedyn.

Larry worked professionally in the oil production industry. He started at entry level and worked his way up to become a successful and valued employee. He made many friends along the way and he valued those friendships. In his spare time he was a jack-of-all-trades: farmer, rancher, blacksmith, etc. He was also an avid sportsman. As he told us many times, "a day spent fishing or hunting was a good day".

Larry is survived by his children and grandchildren, his Mother and Step-father Gloria and Ernie Buist, his Grandfather Orrin F Curtis and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Kent Orrin Curtis, two sisters, Lisa Jane and LuAnn Paula Curtis and his beloved grandmothers Louise Curtis and Blaude Davis.

We will miss his unique laughter, his great stories and so much more.

A viewing for friends and family was held on Friday, July 13, 2012 from 6:00~8:00pm at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home, 410 N. 800 West, Vernal, Utah. Services were held on Saturday at the funeral home, beginning with a viewing from 10:45~11:45 am, followed by a graveside service 12 Noon at the Vernal City Cemetery.
