Leon Dale Parrish was born on January 18, 1934 to Lyman Marion and Phebe Eliza Smith Parrish in Tridell, Utah. Leon married Christella Evans on November 27, 1952. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had two children, Lane and Faline.
Leon worked for over 30 years for Chevron Oil Company in Utah, Montana and Colorado. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, rafting and skiing. He was a Sunday School Teacher and involved in the scouting program for many years. He participated in the World Senior Games in St. George for over 7 years in Softball and Horseshoes. Leon had a great zeal for life and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Leon is survived by his wife, Christella; daughter, Faline Harrison (Paul) Parker, Colorado; Grandchildren, Cody Harrison (Candice), Amelia Kirk (Robbie), Mason Harrison, Taylor Harrison; four great grandchildren; sisters, Ada Fae Hansen, Deanna Earl.
Leon is preceded in death by his son, Lane; parents, Lyman and Phebe Parrish; brothers, Wilmar, Lloyd, Rex, Marion; Sisters, Wilma Merkley, Genevieve Cowlishaw, Maxine Sanders.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11 A.M. at the Glines 7th Ward LDS Chapel, 1270 West 1500 South. A viewing was held Friday evening from 6~8 P.M. at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home and Saturday 9:45~10:45 A.M. at the chapel. Burial was in Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of the Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
