Linda Loy (Mackay) Jones

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Linda Loy MacKay Jones, who departed this world on April 25, 2025, at the age of 73, surrounded by the love of her daughter and grandson. Born in the serene town of Vernal, Utah, on September 22, 1951, Linda was the cherished youngest of eight siblings, a true treasure among her four brothers and three sisters. In her life, Linda embraced the beauty of love and family. She was once married to Jimmie C. Greenhow, with whom she welcomed two beloved children, Phillip B. Greenhow and Bonnie L. Greenhow Stoumbaugh. Their journey together took a different path, leading her to marry Charles K. Jones on June 27, 1988, adding joy with nine stepchildren to her ever-growing family. Linda's spirit flourished in the great outdoors; she found solace in camping under the stars, creativity in sewing, joy in dancing, and delight in swimming. Yet, the sweetest moments of her life were spent surrounded by family and friends, sharing laughter and love. Linda dedicated her heart to her role as a housekeeper at Ashley Regional Medical Center, where she felt fulfilled in serving others and taking pride in her work until her retirement in 2017. Linda leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience, survived by her children: Bonnie Loy Greenhow Stoumbaugh, Angie Smuin (the brown eyed daughter she always wanted), and Phillip B. Greenhow (Roni), all residing in Vernal. She is also survived by her sister Gayla (Terry) Anderson, her nine stepchildren, 31 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts, along with a multitude of nieces and nephews who cherished her dearly. She is preceded in death by both her husbands, Jimmie C Greenhow and Charlie K Jones, four brothers, Nolan (Gladys) MacKay, Verele (Geynda) MacKay, Bryee (Curelene) MacKay, Keith MacKay, two sisters Neva Wochrmann (MacKay, Zola (Donnie) Wonn, one granddaughter and one nephew Jeremy MacKay, and her parents. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
