Linda Jo Roberts

Linda Jo Roberts Passed away September 8, 2026 Peacefully in her home at the age of 78. Jo was born on June 29, 1948, to Vergie (Cook) Swain, and Garn Swain in Vernal, Utah. Jo had a brilliant mind, and a cheerful, quick-witted funny personality. For most of her career, she worked as a Lead Court Clerk for Utah's Eighth District Court. In Jo's youth she enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with her family.

At 34, she married the love of her life, Gale Rasmussen. The two of them went on many vacations to Hawaii where they would go scuba diving. They also loved to go snorkeling and spearfishing in the lakes and rivers back home.

Jo's passion was her family. That was always the most important thing in her life. She loved her kids, Granddaughters, and her great grandkids with her whole heart. At 44 Jo broke her hip after slipping in an icy parking lot. Six years later she was involved in a terrible car accident. The injuries she suffered left her in pain for the rest of her life. Despite the pain, Jo pushed through. She continued to work hard and play hard! Jo was always known for keeping an immaculate home and yard. she also had two dogs in her later years that she absolutely adored. Reggie and Jilly. Her dogs may have been more spoiled than her grandkids. She was a great soul, kind, compassionate, and friendly to everyone, She will be deeply missed.

Jo is survived by her children: Tracie Hansen, of Orem, UT, And Chuck Rasmussen, of Vernal, UT.

Grandchildren: Cassie O'Connor( Ry O'Connor), of Plevna, MT and Gabbi Rasmusssen, of Vernal/Salt Lake City, UT

Great Grandchildren: Odell O'Connor (9), Capp O'Connor(6) Calhoun O'Connor (4) and Sadie O'Connor (2), All of Plevna, MT

Jo was Proceeded in death by her parents Vergie and Garn Swain and her brother Doug Swain, and her aunt/best friend Nadean Carpenter.

There will be a celebration of Jo's life, Saturday October 3, 2026 at 2pm at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home located at 410 North 800 West Vernal, Utah.
