On the morning of 01 October 1962, a loving family welcomed a long-awaited baby girl into their home. Lisa Jorgensen was welcomed by her parents, Leo "H" Jorgensen, Veda Thacker Jorgensen, sister Zellene and brother Rex. On 19 December 2022, this valiant ALS warrior was welcomed to her heavenly home by her loving parents. Her journey this last year has been hard. She never complained or asked why. She had a smile on her face every day and her sense of humor was intact until the very end. She is missed by all who have known and loved her. Her greatest joy in life is her beautiful daughter, Mikayla Goodlife Jorgensen, born 15 December 2001, to Lisa and Diana Goodlife. From the day she was born, Lisa was a fierce protector and mother for Mikayla. There was no challenge Lisa wouldn't take head on for her. She was raised in love and taught challenges are meant to be overcome. Their love for one another has always been strong, and many adventures have been enjoyed. Lisa grew up in Vernal, UT, graduating from Uintah High in 1981. She participated in basketball and softball. She later walked onto the UVU softball team and earned a scholarship playing for the school. And she was an amazing player, and her family loved watching her play! She then attended Utah State University where she earned her degree in Psychology. Where she also introduced some of her nieces and nephews to Kraft box mac & cheese. She pursued a career working in group homes helping clients to live fulfilling lives. She loved helping them gain more independence and enjoying new adventures. She later received her social work credentials and went to work for the Department of Family Services. She helped to save the lives of many children and make a positive impact on them. She was an incredibly kind and giving person. Many of her nieces and nephews have fond memories of spending time and/or living with Lisa. She was an adventurous person and loved sharing that adventure with everyone. Some of our fond memories include the haunted mine in Park City, going jet skiing at Red Fleet with the entire Jorgensen clan, and destroying an old hot tub with Justin and Daniel while working on properties one summer. There are very sweet memories of Jess and Megan spending time with auntie while she was in Provo/Orem and going to a balloon festival. Always something new and fun to explore with Lisa. Time spent with family always brought her the greatest joy, especially with her nieces and nephews and their families. She was always the favorite aunt because she had the greatest adventure waiting to share. Her current one now includes learning how to fly with Michael - watch out for falling rocks! Lisa is survived by her daughter Mikayla, her brother Rex (Aneida) Jorgensen, sister Zellene (Brett) Allred, nine nieces and nephews and many grand nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Veda Jorgensen, nephew, Michael J. Allred, grandparents Cal and Leona Jorgensen, Rawlins and Zella Thacker, and many aunts and uncles. To her Delta family and friends, you adopted Lisa as one of your own kin. You gave her a happy place where she was able to flourish as she started this ALS journey. She was never alone, and she will always be your Pisa. The family would like to thank CNS Hospice of Cache Valley for the care and support Lisa received in the final months of her life. Also, the ALS Clinic at the University of Utah. They have all helped us navigate the effects of ALS in Lisa's life. Until we meet again dear sister, aunt, and friend, may you fly free and without pain. We love you!!! Funeral services will be held Friday, December 23, 2022 at 2:00PM at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday 12:45-1:45PM at the mortuary.
