Lita Marie Simper Bullock passed away on June 3, 2023, just one month shy of her 93rd birthday. She was born to Walter B. and Norma Simper on July 8, 1930. She grew up and was a lifelong resident of Vernal. Lita graduated from Uintah High School in 1948. Later that year, she met her lifelong companion, Raymond Bullock. They were married on October 2, 1948. Their marriage was later sealed in the Vernal Utah Temple. Together, Lita and Raymond had four children: Brad, Randy, Tanya, and Kim. Our sweet Lita spent her life raising her family. She taught her children and her grandchildren to appreciate the little things in life. She may have been tiny in size, but the kids and grandkids always knew she was the boss. Later in life, Lita's name became "Granny" to just about everyone she knew. This made her giggle but proud, no doubt. Lita enjoyed so many things in this life. She loved going to the hills or up Dry Fork Canyon. She would say it was to look for rocks or firewood, but mostly, it was to enjoy the great outdoors and to have a family picnic. Granny could often be found sitting in her front yard, just enjoying the sunshine. Granny was a treasure hunter/collector of many things. She loved spending her weekends driving from yard sale to yard sale to find the next piece to add to her collection. One of Granny's greatest joys and biggest passion was being a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Beuna Vista Camp. She held many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed them all but really loved serving as a missionary at the Uintah Care Center for several years. This came full circle for her, as she spent the last two years of her life as a resident. As a resident, she was lucky enough to have her sweet sister, Karen, as her roommate. As a family, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Uintah Care Center and their loving staff for taking such remarkable care of our Granny. We will always and forever miss our beloved Granny Lita. Her spunky personality, Halloween costumes, and big hugs and kisses will always be memories we treasure. Lita is preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond; brother, Jim; parents Walter B. & Norma; in-laws, Rulon & Letha Bullock; grandchildren, Rachel Bullock, Dalton Hacking, & Isabella Giese. Lita is survived by her children; Brad (Rula) Bullock; Randy Bullock; Tanya Bullock; Kim (Mike) McCarley; 8 grandchildren and spouses; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; and sister, Karen Simper. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 12noon at the Vernal 7th Ward LDS Chapel 850 West 100 North. Visitation Saturday 10:30-11:45AM at the Church.
