Lula Kidd Twitchell, age 95, was born on October 12, 1916 in Vernal, Utah. Lula passed away April 1, 2012 at the Uintah Care Center with family at her side. Lula married Harold H. Twitchell in the Salt Lake City Temple, March 3, 1933. She had many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints including ward director in the relief society for 25 years or more. She was a very talented quilter and made hundreds of quilts and donated many of them to charity. She and her husband loved the outdoors and spent many years exploring the Green River, Utah area.
Lula is survived by her four daughters: Helen (Dewy) Paulson, Connie Boren, Sylvia Chew, and Marline (Floyd) Holfelts; Siblings: Elva Bennett, Mavis Powell, Doreen Norman, and Harry D. (Estel) Kidd. She is also survived by 62 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Lula is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mary Kidd; brothers, Maurice, Arnold, Marion, and Russell Kidd; Sisters, Toris Fowler and Katherine Allred Simmons; grandson, Jerry Chew; two great-grandchildren, Stephanie Jones and Robert Chew; and two sons-in-law, Lorenzo Boren and Hoyle Chew.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home, 410 North 800 West ~ Vernal at 11 a.m. A viewing was held Tuesday evening from 6~8p.m. and also one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
