Lynne Neil King

Lynne Neil King, age 92, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2024, in Vernal Utah. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose life was dedicated to his family and community. He is survived by his loving wife, Joye Oaks King; sons Kirby (Jacqui) and Jeff King; granddaughters Sammi and Kassi; brother Floyd King; sister Mary Ann King Turner; and many nieces and nephews. Lynne's deep affection for his family was evident in the time he spent with them, which he treasured above all else. He is proceeded by his parents Derell & Ann King and father-in-law and mother-in-law Ercil & Alberta Oaks. A distinguished leader, Lynne served in numerous roles, including President of the Intermountain Hardware Association, President of the Vernal Chamber of Commerce, and Vernal City Councilman. He was a charter member and President of the Dinah-Mites and one of the original partners of Western Living Furniture. Alongside his wife and sons, he owned True Value Hardware and previously worked for many years at Ashton's. An entrepreneur at heart, Lynne managed and owned several businesses with his longtime friend and business partner Carl Cobbs, including a motel, laundromat, and dry cleaners. He and his family also had interest in an office building and other properties. After graduating from Uintah High School, Lynne attended Brigham Young University (BYU) and then proudly served two years in the National Guard. His passions included reading and spending time at the cabin he and his sons built, both of which brought him immense joy. Lynne's legacy of hard work, community service, and unwavering love for his family will forever be remembered. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Funeral services for Lynne Neil King, age 92, of Vernal, husband of Joye King, will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 11:00AM at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. A viewing for family and friends will be held Monday from 6-8pm and Tuesday 9:45-10:45AM at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery.
