Today, as we gather to honor the life of Mackenzie Alisa Brasfield, we remember not only the vibrant individual she was but also the profound connections she shared with her family, encompassing a long list of guardian angels who watched over Mackenzie's life journey. Mackenzie was not just a daughter, sister, mother, and fiancée; she was her own unique individual loved by many. She would be so lucky to have had the support of so many, an acceptance known by few. Those closest to her, watched the shaping of MacKenzie into the remarkable human we celebrate today. Born on May 2, 1987, Mackenzie was welcomed into a family overflowing with love. The cherished daughter of Derek Cordova and Beth Kline, Mackenzie was surrounded by the unwavering support of her parents and stepmother, Sandy Cordova who brought an extra layer of love and care while she was in her younger years. MacKenzie was fortunate enough to be surrounded by extended families such as the Woolery's who took her in like one of their own. These incredible people brought an additional wave of love and guidance into Mackenzie's early years, enriching her young adulthood with warmth, acceptance, and understanding. Mackenzie was surrounded with a long list of siblings who loved her regardless of distance: Nicki, John, Amanda, Greg, Elijah, Kyle, and Corbie. Together, they shared countless cherished memories, forming bonds that transcended time and distance. Mackenzie's grandparents, Joe and Maria Cordova, and Rod and Judy Hendrickson loved MacKenzie unconditionally through all the chapters life gave her. Mackenzie's greatest joy in life was her role as a mother. She poured her heart and soul into nurturing and raising her four beautiful children: Tara Ray, Tayden, Taylee, and Taya. Mackenzie's love for her children knew no bounds, and her legacy will live on through them, as they carry her spirit forward with them every step of their journey. They enjoyed MacKenzies obsession with any body of water; lakes, rivers, oceans and waterfalls! When not seeking a body of water or working at the steakhouse, MacKenzie was probably asking Tara to make her a new playlist or snuggled up on the couch with her kids binge watching Greys Anatomy, Criminal Minds or Revenge! In addition to the profound connections Mackenzie shared with her parents, siblings, children, stepmother, and grandparents, her story was kicked off by the love she shared with her late husband, Jamie. Jamie was not just a husband but a partner, a confidant, and a pillar of strength albeit too short. Regardless she honored him all her remaining days of her life. Her love for Jamie never ceased because she found solace in the bond they shared. Tragically, Jamie's battle with cancer came to an end, leaving behind a void that could never be filled. His passing was not just a loss for Mackenzie but his son Tayden who was still an infant. In the face of unimaginable grief, Mackenzie showed incredible strength and courage, honoring Jamie's memory while continuing to navigate the complexities of life with grace and resilience. In the final days she was blessed with renewed love following her heartbreak. MacKenzie chose Bret, who she not only found as a partner but a soulmate and confidant. It brought her a new ray of hope and restoration. Their love was a testament to the power of connection and resilience, guiding them through life's trials and triumphs with unwavering strength and devotion. As we bid farewell to McKenzie Alisa Brasfield, let us find solace in the memories we shared, the love we were blessed to receive, and the legacy in her children she leaves behind. So, the next time you watch one of her favorite shows, eat at a steakhouse or gaze across a body of water I ask that you keep MacKenzie in your heart and say hi because in these moments we know she is watching over us smiling as we enjoy the things in life she cherished most. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing that she was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. May Mackenzie's legacy be one of resilience, and unwavering strength inspiring all who knew her to embrace each moment with boldness and the confidence to love deep, cherish every moment, and never give up on love.
