Marilyn Price Hunting died peacefully in her home, of natural causes, Thursday, January 29, 2026. Her funeral will be held Wednesday, February 4 - her 92nd birthday.

She was born to Absalom Price and Mamie Arline Carpenter, February 4, 1934, in their home 'down the Lane' in Maeser. (The best place on earth, according to her.) She had four older brothers, whom she adored - Shirley, (Afton and Joyce), Dan (Clara), Boyd (Mary) and Duane (Eula).

She and her husband, Ray Hunting raised 5 children, Pam, (Skip Clinch), Eric (Ann Huffaker), Rayma, (Scott McCarrel, Tamra (Shon Massey) and Tara (Mike Reidhead).

Marilyn graduated from Uintah High School in the Class of 1952. She and her classmates still keep in touch.

Throughout her life she has always been active in the community she loves. She and Ray owned a carpet laying business and as Ray's knees gave out, they turned to ranching and farming as their life's chosen vocation.

Marilyn made the best homemade bread. Ask any of her family! She could be found at the ball park all through the season, watching the grandsons and her favorite Murray neighbor boys.

Marilyn belonged to the Cowbells (later known as Cattlewomen Association). She was a member of Farm Bureau, serving as secretary for 10 years. As a parent, she was active in PTA and was a 4-H Club leader. She also was Republican Party precinct chair, delegate and Judge of Election for many years, member of Kommettes Club, Daughters of Utah Pioneers on county and camp levels, a Pink Lady at the hospital, board member, and then president of Maeser Cemetery Board and long ago, sang in the community singing group, the Honey Bees.

She was instrumental in starting the Uintah County Historic Preservation Committee and dedicated over 25 years of gathering and cataloging local histories for generations to come.

A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she served in many capacities throughout her long life. She served a mission in the Salt Lake City Family and Church History Mission. Marilyn also served in the Vernal Temple from 1997 to 2020.

Marilyn LIVED until she died. She stayed active in her interests and with her family to the very end.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ray, her parents, brothers and sister-in laws. She is survived by her children, their spouses, 19 grandchildren and 44 1/2 great grandchildren.
