Marion Oaks

Marion Jean Stacy Oaks passed away peacefully Monday, October 5, 2015 at the home of her son Cregg Oaks in Heber, Utah. Jean was born March 26, 1925 in Telluride, Colorado to Walter Marion and Ruby Ellen Coulson. Her parents divorced when she was seven years old. She then came to Utah where she was raised by her grandmother, Marie J. Trone.

Jean married Ivan L. Oaks July 10, 1945. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. She was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on her 30th birthday on March 26, 1955. She served in many callings including a mission with her husband in Whiterocks, Utah.

She enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had many friends of all ages. She will be remembered for her thoughtfulness and caring for others and for her great sense of humor.

Jean is survived by her children: Cregg (Vicki) Oaks of Heber, Utah and Sherma Workman of Vernal, Utah; eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and grandmother.

Funeral services were held on Saturday October 10, 2015 at 2:00PM at the Glines Stake Center (78 South Aggie Blvd). A viewing was held one hour prior at the church. Interment was in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery.
