Mark Hilton Harvey

Mark Hilton Harvey, age 64 of Vernal, Utah, husband of Sherrie Harvey, passed away on March 3, 2025. Mark was raised for a time in Oracle and Tucson, Arizona. His father was a traveling salesman so the family moved around a lot. When he was 16 yrs old, his father let him set out on his own. His first job was as a cook on an oil rig. When it was learned that he was only 16, the boss said: "get that kid off the rig!" Shortly after, the whole rig went down so Mark was the only survivor of that crew! He got a job herding sheep in Texas and fell in a gopher hole, breaking his leg. It never got fixed right so it would hurt and swell up whenever it snowed the rest of his life. He re-did the flooring at the Tucson mall. He was a cook for several restaurants in Texas and Arizona. He worked for Garbett Homes (cleaning up new homes for their Parade of Homes). He was a roofer for quite awhile. He worked for ABC Striping. One of their jobs was painting the stripes on the Disneyland parking lot, where he had the pleasure of meeting Ronald Reagan. He enjoyed panning for gold, being outdoors..loved nature; animals, gardening, reading the bible, Jesus, John Wayne, watching "Antique Roadshow", listening to KLOVE, Christian and Rock n Roll music. When his children were small, he reserved the baby bottle washing for himself and thus earned the nickname: "Chief Cook and Bottle Washer". Mark often said that his greatest accomplishments in life were his kids. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Charles Gene Harvey and his mother, Shirley Nadeen Johns. Mark is survived by his wife, Sherrie; son, Malachi; daughter, Jeannie; sister-in-law, Kara Jeffers; niece, Eternity Clement; son, Nathaniel Joe Harvey (Arizona); sister, Lorene Munozz; sister, Jeannie Mitchell; brother, John Harvey; brother, Frank Harvey; nephews Michael and Daniel Munozz; and niece, Mandy. Memorial services for Mark will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Naples 2nd Ward LDS Chapel (2313 South 1500 East) with a visitation 30 minutes prior from 10:30-10:55 AM.
