Marva Marie (Slaugh) Hillis

Marva Hillis passed away February 21, 2022 at the age of 83. Marva was born on September 11, 1938 to Mary and Mervin Slaugh in Vernal, Utah. Mom met dad in S.L.C Hills Airforce Base where he was in the Airforce. They lived in Salt Lake City and Arkansas before settling in Vernal. Mom and dad had four children, 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Moms world revolved around her family and she was the light of our world. Moms house was the center of our family. Her house always had company. All of our gatherings were at moms. Mom fed everyone and everyone was welcome. Mom never passed judgement. Marva is survived by her son Neil (Sharina) Hillis, her daughters Kathy (Charlie) Cook and Lisa Bourdeau. She is preceded in death by her husband Jim, son Jerry, grandsons Alex and Brandon, both parents, and brothers Delay and Dennis. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
