Marvin Thomas Capps passed away on Saturday May 6, 2023 at the age of 83. He was born on May 8, 1939 in Sterling City, Texas to Irvin Thomas Capps and Gladiola "Francis" Malone Statham. He married the love of his life V. Juanita Everett on January 4, 1959. They went on many adventures in 63 years of marriage. They had 3 sons: Marvin E. (Nancy) Capps, Richard (Teri) Capps, Taz (Angie) Capps, 5 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. They moved from West Texas in 1967 to Wyoming working in the oilfield, and later settled in Vernal in 1968. He worked in the oil field here and started Capps Saw Dust Trucking, Hauling Drilling mud and oilfield equipment. In 1974 he started Capps Auto Wrecking. He never met a person that wasn't a friend immediately. He would give his shirt off his back if he needed to. He loved his wife, children, and many others he called his own children. He loved to go camping, fishing, hunting, and old cars. He is survived by his two sons, Marvin Jr (Nancy), Richard (Teri), grandchildren, and his children he called his own. He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years; Juanita, son; Taz, daughter-in-law; Angie, parents, and many brothers and sisters. Funeral service for Marvin will be held Friday May 12, 2023 at 11:00am at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. Interment in Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
