Max Anderson passed away on July 10, 2023, at the age of 89. Max was born on December 8, 1933, to Maud and Loren Anderson in Vernal. Max served his country honorably in the army which took him many places including Germany. Max was blessed with his 2 boys but lost them far too young. Max spent his career as a welder fabricator and then later in life as a heavy equipment operator. Max's favorite recreation was bowling where over the years he made many lifelong friends. That led him to meet Naomi Ruth who gave him great joy and brought her two kids and their families into his life. Max is survived by his brother Terry (Donna) Anderson, Sister Myrna Young, sister-in-law Lylis Anderson, and many nieces and nephews. Also, by Ruth's children Sissy (Doug) Dunn, Tommy (Holly) Lay and their children and grandchildren. Through the years Max has become father/grandfather figure to many, specifically, granddaughter Neesha, who he has always had a soft spot in his heart for. Max was proceeded in death by his sons Steven and Brent, parents Maud and Loren, sister Eldona (Max) Johnson, brother Jay and brother-in-law Stan Young. Max appreciated his team from Good Shepherd Hospice for all their love and care and referred to them as "his girls" specifically Tina and Kim for the angels that they are and Misty who provided support and great care over the last several days. Funeral Services for Max will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 12:00PM at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. A viewing for family and friends will be held Saturday from 10:45-11:45AM at the Mortuary. Interment will be in the Vernal Memorial Park with Military honors provided by the American Legion Post 11.
