Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home is not handling the services for Michael Rasmussen. We are posting the obituary as a courtesy to the family.
Michael was born in Colville, WA to Max Rasmussen and Patricia Garoutte Spurlock. The
family lived in Kettle Falls, WA and before the kids were old enough to attend school, the
family moved to Lapoint, Utah.
Mike spent his youth filled with BMX racing, WWF (his hero Hulk Hogan), football, and
friends. He attended the first three years of high school at Uintah High. His family then
moved to Las Vegas, NV in his senior year, where he graduated with the class of ‘89.
Michael married Erica Becker in 1990, and became a proud father with the arrival of Griffyn,
followed by his second son Gavin.
As he developed his skill in construction, Mike determined that he wanted to be his own
boss. He got his contractor’s license in 2001 and started his own business, Nesco
Construction. He has become known in Clark County, NV as the “go to” contractor,
specializing in doors. His reputation for professional and friendly service has brought his
business the highest reviews.
Mike married his best friend Alaina Tipton Rasmussen in 2005. They shared many happy
years together, with two corgi pups, opening their home to their numerous family and
friends.
In their generosity of spirit, Mike and Alaina helped care for Mike’s grandmother, Laura Lee,
in her later years. In his free time, Mike enjoyed time on his motorcycle, and vacations with
Alaina.
Mike is proceeded in death by his father, Max Rasmussen. He is survived by his wife,
Alaina, his mother, 4 siblings, his son Griffyn, his wife Kami, their children Fysher, Elli, Riggs
and Tilli. Son Gavin, his wife Stephanie and their children Marley and Laken.
The immediate family is holding a small private service at the La Paloma Funeral Services
funeral home on November 17th.
A fond memory of Mike recently stated was that “he was a gentle giant”. As you remember
Mike and would like to donate in his honor, please consider the Wounded Warrior Fund or
your local pet shelter or rescue. The family would like to share their gratitude for all the kind
gestures shown to them during this difficult time.
