Nancy Ann Francis McComb Barth passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 24th, 2021, at the age of 85.
Nancy was born March 3rd, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York to Muriel Hettie Bruce Jones and Lucien Seely McComb. Nancy's mother passed away when she was 8 years old and was raised by her Aunt who became her stepmother Musette Montana Jones McComb.
Nancy Married John Henshaw Barth on December 6th, 1953 and remained together until his passing in 2009.
Nancy grew up in Glenwood Landing moving to Farmingdale NY and then back to Glenwood Landing and as a young girl worked at A&P Supermarket and Adventure Land. She worked at King Kullen as a bookkeeper until 1988.
Nancy and Jim followed their daughter Judy to Vernal in 1989 where they kept their home until her passing. While in Vernal, Nancy worked at Walmart until 1996 and in the failing years of her husband, she devoted her time and energy to him to the end.
Nancy loved her family and loved to take care of them, making sure everyone was happy and fed before ever thinking of herself. She loved Bingo, slot machines and scratch tickets. The memories of Wendover between her and her daughter (her best friend) will often be shared. She would never speak an ill word unless she was cursing at a slot machine. She was so compassionate towards others and most important to her was her family.
Nancy was a New Yorker from birth but loved the country life, and she lived like the Walton's as a child. Everyone who knew Nancy knew that she would move mountains for her children. Her grandchildren were no exception.
She is survived by her children Judy (Milo) Slaugh of Vernal, Jim (Mary) Barth of East Northport, New York, Jeff (Peggy) Barth of Washington DC, one Brother Robert McComb of Sarasota FL, 6 grandchildren Jerry, Mike, Cheryl, Jim, Jill, and Jeff, and 14 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jim, her parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister.
