Nina (Pope) Pease

Nina (Pope) Pease passed away on October 21, 2021 at the age of 88. She was born in Vernal, Utah to Wells LaVere Pope and Sheila Deloris Pitt Pope on March 9, 1933. She graduated from Uintah High School in 1951 and went to work at the Bank of Vernal. Nina met Walter (Bud) Leonard Pease, and they were married December 7, 1951. They had two children, Cydne and Mark. Nina loved golf and played often. She was one of the first members of Ladies Golf and held all of the offices in the organization. She was club champion three times. Two of her greatest enjoyments were playing golf at St. Andrews with her son, Mark, and her hole in one at Dinaland Golf Course. She held many civic jobs. She was county chairman for the American Cancer Society and secretary of Community Concerts for 25 years. She was a Dinah-mite member for over 25 years and was a successful realtor for 35 years. Nina loved playing bridge. She and her bridge partner played in the Senior Games in St. George, Utah. Nina thought her daughter, Cydne, her son, Mark and his wife Denise were her best friends. No one was prouder of their grandchildren, Matt and Jeff Simons, Wyatt Pease, and Jeff's wife Sarah. She is survived by her daughter; Cydne Simons and son; Mark, grandsons; Matt Simons, Jeff Simons, and Wyatt Pease. She is preceded in death by her husband Walter (Bud) Pease, her parents, Wells and Sheila Pope, brother; Larry Pope, and sister; Rea Manwaring. A Memorial Service for Nina will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 11:00am at the Uintah Conference Center (313 East 200 South). A visitation for family and friends will be held that morning from 9:45am - 10:45am at the Conference Center. Interment will be in the Vernal Memorial Park.
