Paul Francis Clawson

January 18, 1967 — November 8, 2024

West Valley/Vernal

As a family, we are greatly saddened to announce the sudden loss of our brother, father, and friend, Paul Francis Clawson, on November 8th, 2024, at the age of 57. Paul Clawson was born on January 18th, 1967, to our parents, Laura May Alexander and Francis Lloyd Clawson, in Erie, PA. Paul loved to create and was an incredible artist. He could take something so simple and somewhat meaningless to most and turn it into one of the most intricate and beautiful models. His knack for creation always had him searching for new things to learn. He put immense research into his period pieces, and the results were astounding. During the 90s, Paul's models were displayed at the Uintah County Library after being purchased by a local doctor. His last large model, known as "Slinger," won first place at the 27th Annual Outlaw Trail Festival of the Arts in Vernal, Utah. During his last few years, he entered recovery quite a few times. I believe each time he entered, he found more peace and acceptance in his journey. The people he met helped him along the way, and the people that he helped left a profound mark on his life. I know he truly loved them. "As wise as you were, your heart overflowed with love that touched countless lives. Your wisdom and experiences have left an indelible mark on all who knew you. Thank you for sharing your light and guiding us with your presence. You will forever be cherished in our hearts and remembered for the profound impact you made. One day, we will meet again in the light of perfection. Until then, rest in peace, dear friend." Kc Higham Paul is preceded in death by his son Johnathan Clawson; parents Laura May Alexander (Clawson) and Francis Lloyd Clawson; Grandparents Robert Willis Clawson and Diana Mae Barkley (Clawson), William Franklin Alexander and Elsie Bretthaur (Alexander); Aunts Linda Carolyn Clawson, Marion 'Susie' Alexander (Granzella), Luella Alexander (Cummins); Uncles William Francis Alexander, James Eugene Alexander, Allen Leroy Alexander; Nephew Travis Clawson and Great Niece Jaime Lynn Withers. Paul is survived by his children Christina (Brandon) Jack of PA, Christopher Clawson of DE & Caitlin Clawson of UT; Siblings John (Debbie) Clawson & Jen (Derek) Anderton both of Vernal, UT; Kim (Dave) Zuch of Carson City, NV; Half-brothers Bobbie Clawson & Jimmy Clawson, Half-sisters Rose Clawson and Carolyn Clawson all of Colorado; Stepmother Judy Gaede of AZ; Step-siblings Pam (Steve) Schaeffer of AZ, Scott (Robin) Turner of NV and Kurt (April) Turner of NC; Cousins Stephanie (DJ) Allman of Rock Springs, WY & Renae (Ron) Alexander-Chrisman also of Rock Springs, WY, as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family. "There is no night without a dawning, no winter without a Spring. And beyond death's dark horizon, our hearts once more will sing. Those who leave us for a while have only gone away out of a restless, care-worn world into a brighter day. Where there will be no partings and time is not counted by years. Where there are no trials or troubles and no worries or tears." B. Roberts Services or Paul will be held in Vernal Ut, through the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home at a future date.
