Paul (Hop) Hill Parkinson passed away on October 13, 2022 in Rexburg, Idaho surrounded by his family. He was born on September 15, 1952 to Max and Vina (Hill) Parkinson in Ashton, Idaho. He was the fourth of six siblings to join the family. Paul loved his siblings and especially looked up to his big brothers Max and Wayne. Paul was born with a natural love for the outdoors. You would often find him camping, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, water skiing, boating, horseback riding or anything to do with the mountains. He grew up working on the family farm near Hog Hollow. He developed a deep devotion for growing and harvesting crops. He was always quick to point out what was growing in the fields and had much admiration for farmers. Paul had many talents that came in handy with all of his occupations he had over the years. From a farmer, a mechanic, a carpenter, or a truck driver, he could do and fix just about anything. Paul was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was very active with the Scouting Program in his younger years and touched the lives of many. Paul married Cheri Larsen and they had two children, they later divorced. Paul later married Tammy Dayton and they had five children, and they later divorced. Paul is survived by his children, Kristy (Trent) Maupin, Travus Parkinson, Jed (Cheree) Parkinson, Lacey (Tyler) Knotts, Lynzi (J.C.) Neville, Darah (Phil) Ralphs, and Toby (Desiree) Parkinson; his siblings, Max (Gladys) Parkinson, Wayne Parkinson, Linda Morton, Lois Mortensen, 11 grandsons, 7 granddaughters, and 2 great-granddaughters. Paul is preceded in death by his parents; Max and Vina Parkinson, his sister; Joyce Wright, and a brother-in-law; Terry Mortensen. Funeral Services for Paul will be held Tuesday October 18, 2022 at 11:00am at the St. Anthony LDS Stake Center (247 East 4th North St. Anthony). Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday from 6:00pm ~ 8:00pm and Tuesday from 9:45am ~ 10:45am all at the church. Paul's wishes are to be cremated and scattered on the family farm, and an internment in the Chester Cemetery at a later date. Services under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
