Perry Durr

Perry was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota to Harry H. and Emma M. (Stroh) Durr. He was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He attended school in Aberdeen for K-12, graduating in 1967. He left for a vocational school in Denver, Colorado, and studied drafting.

He worked several jobs in Denver, before moving to the Colorado Springs area. He trained to become a machinist. He purchased property in the mountains West of Colorado Springs, near Divide, Colorado. He lived in a small trailer on the property, before building his dream Log Home. He had a magnificent view of Pikes Peak from the deck of the home. He opened his business, Durr Manufacturing, in Woodland Park, Colorado. Perry later moved his business, to his home near Divide, Colorado, until retiring in 2010. He sold his business and moved to Rangely, Colorado.

Perry was involved with the Hunter Education Program, through CPW for 25 years, instructing many in the safe hunting practices needed to successfully hunt in the state of Colorado. He occupied his retirement years with the Gideon Society, NRA, and of course personal hunting. He was also involved with Prison Ministry, and made numerous trips to the facility in Rifle, Colorado, working with many inmates at the facility.

Perry enjoyed hiking in the mountains near his home in Divide, with his faithful companion, Max, a beautiful Golden Retriever.

Perry was preceded in death by his Parents, Harry and Emma, Margaret Stroh, his grandmother, who lived with the family until her passing in 1976, his younger brother Jack.

He is survived by his brother Ronald, Ginger Durr of Brighton, Colorado, Nieces Macie Durr of Brighton, and Monica Davis of Aurora, and her great nieces Brynlee, and Kadyn Davis of Aurora, Colorado. Wilma Stroh, of Brighton, Colorado and many more cousins throughout the country!
