Phil Vernon Wilson

Phil Vernon Wilson passed away on July 5, 2026, at the age of 84. Phil was born December 4, 1941, to his parents Pauline Church and Delworth Wilson in La Verkin, Utah. Phil married Peggy L. Shirts on November 4, 1966, in Henderson, Nevada and were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 4, 1968.

Phil was a pilot and loved to fly, he loved to fish and go camping with his family. He loved life. Phil served faithfully in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in many different callings throughout his life. He served as an ordinance worker for over 20 years.

Phil served in the United States Air Force, stationed in England. Phil served as a missionary in the North British mission in England. After returning from England a second time, working in Henderson, Nevada, he met the love of his life Peggy L. Shirts, within 2 months they were married. Quickly they began their beautiful family. They were married for 60 years. During his career as a salesman, he achieved the heights of a Million Dollar Salesman and was recognized and awarded numerous prestigious awards. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father and friend to all.

He is survived by his wife Peggy Wilson and his 6 children Ronald (Michelle) Wilson, Donina Carpenter, Venesa (Michael) Yaksick, Rebbecca Turbeville, P. Vernon Wilson, and Tamera (Paul) Freeman. As well as 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother Pauline Wulffenstein, his father Delworth Wilson, James "Jim" Wulffenstein, his sister Deloris Tischner, and brother Roy Wilson.

Services for Phil will be held on July 11, 2026, at 11 AM at the Vernal 4th Ward Chapel 235 E 600 S. A viewing for family and friends will be held that same morning from 9-10:45 AM.
Interment will be in the Kohlerlawn Cemetery in Nampa Idaho on Monday July 13, 2026, at 10 AM.
