Phil was born at home in his grandparents home then brought to stay in a home at his favorite place to be on Brush Creek. He had a very adventurous childhood with so many colorful stories that he willingly shared with love d ones. He spent many summers as a boy on diamond mountain (Hatch's Cove) watching the sheep with his horse. One of our favorite stories was the time when he was a bored young kid, decided it would be a good idea to rope a deer, as soon as he did it he realized it was not such a good idea, as soon ad the deer hit the end of the rope it would come and jab the horse in the butt, then back up and jab the horse again. Phil was a very independent kid, milking the family's cow each morning. Constant daily chores that gave him his outstanding work ethics. He attended Uintah High school, after High school he married Garnet Keiver and had his 4 children and later they divorced. Later he married Nada Williamson. His best friend growing up was Con Searle, the two of them were constantly up to a lot of shenanigans. There was a man who he looked up to and who made a huge Impact on his life, his name was Fred Roudat. He worked for Haliburton for 32 years and retired from the oilfield but did not retire from work. He embarked on his dream of owning and running the Sage Hills Ranch. He started with his son Herb Hatch by his side. He raised sheep and cattle but his favorites were the sheep. He loved his dogs and never went anywhere on the ranch without them. His Family spent countless hours working and playing on the ranch. Phil was well Known in our community and was liked by so many. He was so giving to anyone in need and never ask for anything in return. He was truly happy with the simple things in life. One of his joys was having conversations is his shop at his work bench with anyone that came by. He loved having coffee with friends at Diamond Hills cafe. Phil and Earnie Buist was the best of friends and shared lots of laughter and good times and was always there to lend a helping hand to each other. Phil was an impeccable journeyman of many trades and shared his knowledge with all of his children and grandchildren, with more patience than anyone we knew. There will be a big hole in our hearts until we see you again our dear husband, dad, grampa, friend.
