Renee Shiner

Renee Shiner, 79, passed away peacefully August 21, 2024, in her home with her sweetheart and family by her side. She was born December 26, 1944 to Orvel and Lela Hullinger in Ogden UT. Renee married her high school sweetheart, Brent Shiner Dec 1, 1962 (almost 62 years!). They were later sealed in the Provo LDS Temple July 22, 1978. Renee was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served in a variety of callings including, Primary President, Relief Society President (72 years old), Young Women's and Scouts. She volunteered in the PTA and served as PTA president. She volunteered for the American Cancer Society. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was known for crocheting scrubbers, caramel popcorn balls, and her beautiful quilts (which she won first place!). Renee's hobbies included reading, sewing, quilting, riding horses, camping, playing games with her family, going to football and basketball games with Brent. She was known for keeping the referee's in check and was the loudest in the crowd. Renee is survived by her husband, Brent Shiner and their five children: Curt (Christine) Shiner of Vernal, Corrina (Rex) McGee of Springfield MO, Desree (Ron) Allred of Vernal, Tyler (Marilee) Shiner of Vernal and Trevor (Holly) Shiner of Vernal, 30 grandchildren and almost 23 great grandchildren. Funeral Services for Renee will be held Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 10:00am at the Maeser Stake Center (2745 West 1000 North). Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday August 30th from 6:00pm ~ 8:00pm at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home, and Saturday from 8:45am ~ 9:45am at the church. Interment in Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
