Richard Blaze Wendel

Richard Blaze Wendel passed away on April 26,2021 at the age of 67. Richard was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on Sept. 17, 1953 to Allen and Elieen Wendel and was the 4th of 6 children. Among the many accomplishments and experiences of his youth, one of his proudest was being able to serve an honorable mission to the people of New Zealand for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. On Dec. 7, 1979, he married Rachelle Harris in the Salt Lake Temple and they began their life together. Richard was a man of many hobbies including anything to do with knives, camping , hunting, fishing, and reading but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. When it came to his professional life, he proved to be a man of incredible work ethic and was a valued employee of Ferguson Enterprize, retiring in 2019 after 32 years of hard work. He is survived by: His wife Rachelle, their children Cody (Portia), Jacob (Amanda-Jean), David (Katie), Jennifer, Shaylee and 5 precious grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Doug(Sylvia), Nancy (Bruce), Gary (Kathy), and Joel (Annette). His parents, Allen and Eileen, and his brother Jim preceded him in death. Words can't express just how much he is loved and missed. His passing has left a big hole in our Hearts where our Husband, Dad, and Grandpa used to be. Until we meet again.... The Services for Rich will be held on Friday, May 7,2021 at the LDS Chapel 650 South 200 East in Bountiful Utah. The viewing will begin at 12:45pm with the funeral service at 2:00pm. Following the funeral, we will be laying him to rest at Lakeview Cemetery located in Bountiful, UT.
