Robert Bruce Scott

Robert Bruce "Bob" Scott, devoted husband, father, veteran, and patriot, passed away peacefully in Salt Lake, Utah, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Vernal, Utah, to John Williams "Jack" Scott and Flora Mae Nelson, Bob grew up in Casper, Wyoming, and returned to Vernal to graduate from Uintah High School in 1966. He served his country in the United States Air Force for 11 years, including deployment to Vietnam from 1970-1971.

Bob married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Jean Slaugh, on July 26, 1967, and they were sealed in the Provo Temple on April 10, 1981. He is survived by Sandra, sons Douglas R. (Marquita) Scott and John L. (Angela) Scott, siblings Glade Nelson, Karen Davis, Gordon Albrechtsen, Linda Wilson, and Jackie Scott, 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and four loved dachshunds.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Scott and Flora Nelson, and his sisters Keitha Murray and Coralie Timothy.

A man of many passions, Bob enjoyed motorcycles, 4x4s, boating, camping, engraving gunstocks, building model planes, and crafting with his 3-D printer. His family and friends will remember his warm smile and kind spirit.

Funeral services for Bob will be held Friday March 6, 2026, at 11:00am at the Vernal 7th Ward Chapel (850 West 100 North). Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday from 6:00pm ~ 8:00pm at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home and Friday from 9:45am ~ 10:45am at the church. Interment in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion Post 11, and the Patriot Riders of Utah.
