Robert William Martin

Robert W. (Bob) Martin passed away at his home on Monday, April 21, 2025, as the result of ongoing health problems. He was born January 10, 1935, in Syracuse, New York to William and Edna Morrisette Martin. After graduating from Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse, he joined the U.S. Air Force. He married Jane Heffernan on April 4, 1956. The Air Force took them to F. E. Warren Air Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming. They had a daughter, Laurie Ann. Bob them continued his education at U of W where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in May of 1961. He remained a devout fan of the Wyoming Cowboys. He and Jane later divorced. He then married Edna "Eddie" Short on March 18, 1974. They celebrated their 50th anniversary shortly before her passing in October 2024. Bob was a member of the Korean Shriners International, Professional Engineers, a Master Mason and a member of Post 6 American Legion. His employment included Mountain Bell telephone and Wycon Chemical, later known as Costal Chemical. He is survived by his daughter Laurie Martin of Watkinsville, GA, stepdaughter Lisa (Jed) Ewell, stepson Chris Lawrence all of Vernal, UT. Also survived by his 6 grandchildren, Dustin (Jessica) Adams & daughters Ashlyn, Peyton, and Reagan of Vernal, UT. Scott Barajas of Cheyenne, WY, Kayla (Brandon) Woods of Washington, UT, Kristen (Devin) Mahrt & children Levi & Jovie of Smithfield, UT, Zackery (Destiny) Ewell of Vernal, UT, and Matthew Graham of Hull, GA, a special cousin Father Richard Morrisette of NY. Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 10:00am at the Wheatland Cemetery, Wheatland, WY, under the direction the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Shriners Children's Hospital of Salt Lake City, UT. Special thanks to Kellie and Anita for all you have done!
